Comprehensive Psychiatric Evaluations (First Visit)

On the first visit, patients can plan to receive a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation lasting approximately 60–90 minutes. Parents or guardians are expected to participate during all visits for child and adolescent patients. During this initial session, intake paperwork and direct communication with both the patient and parent/guardian will be reviewed and discussed.

In addition to a detailed exploration of the patient’s chief complaint (or primary concern), patients will be screened for other common psychiatric disorders. This allows for a broad and accurate understanding of the individual’s mental health needs.

Although Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs) are not psychiatrists or medical doctors, they are advanced practice nurses trained to evaluate and manage psychiatric conditions. They must consider the overall health of their patients, including medical factors that may contribute to psychiatric symptoms. Therefore, a review of the patient’s general medical history will be conducted, and consideration will be given to any physical illnesses that could be influencing psychiatric concerns.

Additionally, a thorough psychosocial review is completed, covering developmental history, family background, educational and occupational history, and current stressors. This information helps Tina Noone, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, understand each patient as a whole person and form a well-rounded diagnostic impression.

Based on this evaluation, an individualized treatment plan is developed to address all core issues. This plan may involve medication, psychotherapy, behavioral strategies, or referrals for additional therapeutic services. Whether the most effective approach includes medications or non-pharmacologic interventions such as behavioral therapy, Tina collaborates with patients (and families) to create a path toward improved well-being.

Medication Management with Psychotherapy (Follow Up)

Follow-up visits typically last 20–50 minutes and are designed to monitor progress, evaluate treatment effectiveness, and adjust care as needed. During each follow-up appointment, Tina Noone reviews the patient’s response to medication, changes in symptoms, and overall functioning at home, work, or school.

These sessions are collaborative and patient-centered, allowing time to discuss side effects, mood stability, sleep, appetite, energy levels, and coping strategies. Adjustments to medication regimens may be made based on clinical findings, patient feedback, and ongoing therapeutic goals.

Follow-up visits may also include brief supportive psychotherapy to reinforce healthy behaviors, stress management techniques, and coping mechanisms. For children and adolescents, parental input continues to play an important role, ensuring that observations from home or school are included in treatment decisions.

The frequency of follow-up visits is determined by clinical need. Most patients are seen every 3–4weeks, though visits may be scheduled more frequently early in treatment or when medication adjustments are made. The goal of each follow-up is to ensure steady progress, address concerns promptly, and maintain optimal emotional and psychological health..

About

Tina Noone, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from William Jewell College in 2010 and earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Missouri in 2015. She is a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

Throughout her education, clinical training, and professional experience, Tina has provided psychiatric care for children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients across a variety of settings—including inpatient, outpatient, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, corrections, and telehealth. She also has valuable experience working with individuals affected by substance use disorders and maintains a deep understanding of co-occurring mental health and addiction issues.

In addition, Tina has extensive experience serving the military community, including active-duty members, veterans, retirees, and their families. Her approach emphasizes respect, collaboration, and cultural sensitivity to the unique stressors associated with military life.

Tina founded Trevi Enterprises with a clear mission: to expand access to quality psychiatric care by offering telehealth services that remove common barriers such as long wait times, travel distance, and limited local provider availability.

Trevi Enterprises accepts a select number of insurance plans and also offers private-pay options. This hybrid model allows Tina to dedicate more direct, face-to-face time with patients while minimizing administrative burden—ultimately enhancing the quality, personalization, and continuity of care.

For patients who choose the private-pay option, the clinic provides a superbill that can be submitted to their insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement, depending on the patient’s plan.

Tina’s practice philosophy is guided by compassion, evidence-based care, and the belief that each patient deserves individualized attention and timely access to mental health support.

Philosophy of Care

At the heart of Tina Noone’s approach is the belief that healing begins with understanding. She views every patient as a whole person—someone whose thoughts, emotions, behaviors, relationships, and physical health are all interconnected.

Her philosophy emphasizes partnership and respect, ensuring that each patient is heard, supported, and involved in treatment decisions. Tina strives to create a therapeutic environment that feels safe, welcoming, and free of judgment, where patients can openly explore their experiences and challenges.

Through open communication and evidence-based practice, Tina works collaboratively with patients (and families when appropriate) to identify treatment goals, promote resilience, and foster long-term emotional well-being. Her ultimate goal is to empower patients with the tools, insight, and confidence needed to achieve stability and improved quality of life.

TeleHealth Services

Telehealth psychiatry breaks down barriers, offering mental health support through the convenience of technology.

All services are provided through telehealth in Missouri, Maryland, Colorado, Kansas and Iowa. All patients will have access to a portal that will provide links for appointments.  Telehealth does require access to a smartphone, tablet, computer and internet access.

Please be aware that no controlled substances will be prescribed. I do prescribe standard psychiatric medications that are not controlled substances. Controlled substances are “controlled” because they are medications with a high potential for abuse or dependence.
